KYTLCA HOST DBBB SOUTH CLEANUP RIDE
Volunteer Opportunity – Help Us Clean the Upcoming Southern Expansion of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway
During a recent mapping expedition, our team discovered a significant amount of trash along the soon‑to‑be‑released southern expansion of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway. We need your help to get this area cleaned up before the spring “Back the Byway” event.
This cleanup day is also a great opportunity to get a first look at portions of the new spring expansion route before its official release.
This event is open to EVERYONE—please share and invite others!
What We Provide
- Trash bags
- Rubber gloves
- A designated disposal area at the end of the day
What You Should Bring
- Lunch and plenty of water
- A full tank of fuel before departure (don’t be that truck!)
- Any tools or gear that can help with trash pickup
This is your chance to give back and help keep the DBBB a great experience for all visitors. It’s the first of many projects we have planned in the coming years, and we hope to see strong involvement as we work together to protect and preserve these trails for future generations.
CAMPING:
If you would like to come down on Friday afternoon and make a weekend of it, we will be camping at the Back Roads of Appalachia property located at 2843 Little Sturgeon Creek Rd., Booneville, KY 41314.
Cleanup Day:
On Saturday morning, we will head over to Hooker’s Grocery & Gas located at 20 KY-11, Manchester, KY 40962 and meet up with anyone who would like to join us for the day. We will be departing the gas station at 9:00 A.M.
Please RSVP with the drivers name so we can get an idea of how many trucks are wanting to join us. Bring as many people as you can fit into your truck!
We hope to see everyone there!
Happy Trails, KYTLCA
